Biosynthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Using Capparis spinosa L. Fruit Extract: Characterization, Biocompatibility, and Antioxidant Activity

Recent years have seen an increase in the acceptance of green chemistry as a viable method for producing nanoparticles. The aim this work was to investigate cytotoxicity, antioxidant effect, and hemocompatibility zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) produced utilizing Capparis spinosa L. (C. L.) fruit extract powerful reducing agent. reaction rate ZnO NPs’ shape concerning concentration, contact time, pH, temperature were investigated. production characterization ZnO-NPs confirmed by ultraviolet spectroscopy (U-V), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), zeta potential, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). activity NPs performed DPPH assay; erythrocytes cell-cytotoxic properties investigated using MTT assay. XRD highly pure, crystalline ZnO-NPs, while FESEM analyses revealed that these particles agglomerated spherical, with average size about 37.49 nm. Moreover, UV-Vis absorption at 366 nm, tests ζ potential DLS values −44.76 mV 116.80 respectively. exhibited good biocompatibility RBCs hemolytic experiments did not exhibit any doses ranging from 7.5 120 μg/mL. study concluded greenly generated had little cytotoxicity can thus possibly be developed useful therapeutic option.
